After several weeks of blowing trans fluid all over the road it’s finally sealed.
I was focused too much on the trans pan all this time. Turns out it was the input seal for the transfer case and the case adapter itself.
I knew something was wrong when I yanked the driveshaft and a quart of fluid hit me in the face. I drained a total of 5 quarts from the T case. It should only have 2..
3 hours to pull the driveshaft, transfer case, adapter, reseal and assemble.
Not too bad but I really wanted to be at the track today.
On the plus side every surface under the truck is now coated with a protective film of ATF! Yay!

Yes! Gotta love that “effortless” rust inhibitor! Unless of course “every surface under the truck” includes the driveway...

Good work!
I’ll be rallycrossing in Byron next Sunday, if you want to see a lunatic bomb around on dirt/gravel in a wood paneled station wagon.

Yeah, the driveway.. I’m going to be pressure washing a lot this spring.

You bet I want to see that! Still have my email? Or post the info at Upper Midwest.
I want to get into that too so this will be good exposure.

Cool! I did both. Kinja was borked when I initially posted about this, and wouldn't let me share it. Hope to see you there!

As long as it isn’t a Blizzard whiteout you’ll see me there.
